Our 5 Step Design Process

When you begin a design project with us you will meet with your designer to discuss your goals for your home, your timeline, and your budget. Your designer will come up with a plan tailored for you, and you’ll get the fun started! We work with many out-of-town homeowners, so we have developed an extremely organized and efficient system, using our online communication and project planning software, to keep track of your project and help you stay engaged and informed. We walk you through every step of the process and provide updates on your furnishing selections along the way. We also coordinate your install with you and your builder, and your designer is generally on site for your install to make sure all goes to plan.

  • Discovery

    Our first step in designing your home will be getting to know you! We’ll spend time talking about the function of the home, your likes and dislikes, your goals for the home, color and style preferences, budget, etc. This is a very important first step and we ask lots of questions! The more we get to know you and your project the better we’ll be able to guide you through the furnishings and design process, and the more personalized your design will be. We will also discuss your budget. This is very important and there is no right or wrong answer! We can work with any budget large or small, but having an idea of your budget will help us to create a design that works best for you. If you feel you don’t know what a realistic budget may be, we can help you with that as well.

  • Layouts

    Before we begin looking at furniture we always start with the floorplan and layout. It is essential to know the flow in the room, how you will move around it, where the light is, and what will physically fit in the space. We consider everything you need the room to do and how this can be achieved. We consider the placement of the TV, how the sofa and chairs can be arranged to be sociable, how you can maximize your seating, placement of electrical outlets, storage space, etc.

  • Furnishings Selections

    We begin the furnishings selections process by making decisions about the key pieces of furniture in your home. Using the layouts we created we know exactly the size, shape, and practicalities we are looking for in each item. We guide you through our vast inventory to create cohesive designs in each room of your home.

  • Accessories

    This step is important to achieve a finished and complete look. This is the stage where we weave our magic to elevate the room from the practical and pleasant to the wow! We can help you select throw pillows, rugs, artwork, bedding, table decorations and more, adding warmth and depth to your home, and making it stand out from the rest! We do all of this while keeping you within your budget.

  • Installation

    The finish line! Once your Project is completed, we can talk about your install. If you’re building a new home, we stay in communication with you and your builder regarding a completion date for the construction. On the day of your installation your designer, along with our professional delivery team, will arrive at your home to make the magic happen. We deliver, assemble, and place every piece of furniture that you purchase from us. We wipe down all furniture and apply felt pads on the feet of each piece to protect your floors. We also stage your home using the rugs, artwork, lamps, bedding and accessories that you purchase from us. We remove all of our trash and make sure that your home is ready to be enjoyed!
